Everything You Need To Know About Dudley Stephens

 Hi everyone! If you’ve followed me on Instagram or have been a long-time reader you know how much I love Dudley Stephens. Last night I posted on my Instagram story asking if anyone had Dudley questions before they purchased. So many of you had great questions, so I decided to include them in a blog post. Dudley Stephens is having their best sale yet- 25% off everything with code LABORDAY! It’s the perfect time to stock up for fall or take the plunge on your first purchase! The sale runs until 9/6/21 at midnight.

I know Dudley’s are a bit of an investment, but in my opinion, it’s totally worth it! I wear mine so often and also love shopping at a company that has so many great values.

A little bit more about the brand: Dudley Stephens was founded by two sisters, Lauren and Kaki. They prioritize being environmentally conscious and make all of their products out of recycled fabrics. The company is female-founded and run which is so inspiring! They also heavily prioritize diversity which is fabulous to see.

Let’s get into your questions!

What’s your favorite style?

Over the past few years Dudley has been widely expanding the styles they offer which makes me so excited. After trying out the majority of their styles, I still reach for my Park Slope the most often. I love the length of the Park Slope and how versatile it is. I often will fold over the neck to have a different look especially when layering. The Park Slope also comes in a wide array of color choices so you can find something that matches your wardrobe and personality!

My mom is 56 and her favorite style is the Greenpoint! She loves the classic style with a bit more length than the Park Slope. She also has the Brighton Boatneck and said she loves it for layering.

Shop the Park Slope:
!function(w,i,d,g,e,t){d.getElementById(i)||(element=d.createElement(t),element.id=i,element.src=”https://widgets.rewardstyle.com”+e,d.body.appendChild(element)),w.hasOwnProperty(g)===!0&&”complete”===d.readyState&&w[g].init()}(window,”shopthepost-script”,document,”__stp”,”/js/shopthepost.js”,”script”)

Which do you recommend as a MUST for a first time buyer?

Something neutral! Depending on your preference on style and wardrobe, I would select something that you can wear a variety of ways. For me my go-to styles are the Park Slope in either black, navy, blush, or camel. I find I can wear these colors so many ways in every season.

My mom said her go-to color is black and she finds it to be the most versatile in her wardrobe.

Shop neutrals:

!function(w,i,d,g,e,t){d.getElementById(i)||(element=d.createElement(t),element.id=i,element.src=”https://widgets.rewardstyle.com”+e,d.body.appendChild(element)),w.hasOwnProperty(g)===!0&&”complete”===d.readyState&&w[g].init()}(window,”shopthepost-script”,document,”__stp”,”/js/shopthepost.js”,”script”)

What size do you wear?

For reference I’m 5’2 and I typically wear an XS and find that Dudley Stephens runs true to size. If you plan on layering a lot, you may want to size up. For the Park Slope I’ve heard that that if you have a longer torso it does run a little shorter so that is something to keep in mind! I’m linking their fit guide here – they break down each size and have detailed reviews of the fit.

How do you wash them? How does it wear after washing?

I follow the care recommendations on their website, added those for the vello fleece below! When purchasing they include care details for every product on their website.  After washing in the recommended way I find they hold up very well. They hold their shape and softness.

  • Machine wash warm, inside out, with like colors
  • Hang to dry
  • Do not bleach or iron
  • Avoid use of fabric softener; avoid washing with towels

Do you reach for the terry or vello fleece more often?

The terry and vello fleece are their most popular fabrics for the turtlenecks. You can read an in-depth description of the fabrics on their site here. The terry fleece weight is similar to a sweatshirt and more lightweight than the vello. The vello is similar to a typical fleece but more luxurious. Most of my Dudleys are vello fleece which I find to be best for cooler months. I love the terry too since the fabric is more lightweight. P.s. did you know they also make joggers?! Nothing cozier than a full Dudley look!

Shop pants:

!function(w,i,d,g,e,t){d.getElementById(i)||(element=d.createElement(t),element.id=i,element.src=”https://widgets.rewardstyle.com”+e,d.body.appendChild(element)),w.hasOwnProperty(g)===!0&&”complete”===d.readyState&&w[g].init()}(window,”shopthepost-script”,document,”__stp”,”/js/shopthepost.js”,”script”)

Do they travel well?

Absolutely! I pack a Dudley every time I travel. One thing I love is that they rarely wrinkle and maintain their shape when packed. They are so great to travel in- so cozy and warm! I’m always reaching for my Dudley’s on trips and love how versatile they are.

Here are all of the different styles I own & what they look like on!

The Somerset Sweatshirt (left) is perfect if you don’t want a turtleneck! It’s so comfortable and the perfect casual sweatshirt for everyday wear.
The Cobble Hill (right) is a longer version of the Park Slope. It has the same neck, but a little more coverage. You can see in the image above how long it is on my- I’m 5’2!

Park Slope (left) as I mentioned before is my favorite style. It’s the perfect length and the one I reach for the most often.
Somerset Sweats (right) are so cute and comfortable! This style is unfortunately sold out, but the Jay Joggers are in stock and are just as cute!

Thanks for reading! I hope this helped you find the best Dudley Stephens for you!
