One of my favorite gifts to give during the holiday season is a cozy turtleneck from Dudley Stephens. They’re perfect for friends, moms, grandmas, and everyone on your list! During the holiday season and chilly months in Buffalo, I am constantly reaching for my Dudleys because they are so cozy and versatile. In today’s post, I’m sharing some style inspiration for the holidays and a few styling tips!

 

 

Styling Tip 1– layering! I LOVE to layer my Dudley Stephens, especially with dresses and skirts. I get a lot of questions about how I tuck them and wanted to share two tips. My first trick is to use the bra tuck which I’m sure you’ve seen online! This trick works well with skirts – I simply fold my Dudley (or any other sweater) under and tuck it into the bottom of my bra. Another useful item that helps with this is using the tuckband- linked here. This is definitely the most secure and seamless way to do a half tuck but if you are in a pinch the bra trick works too! You can also do this using a belt if you have one that is the right size! Sharing some of my tucked Dudley looks below:

 

 

 

Styling Tip 2– pick the perfect length! Dudley offers a variety of lengths for their turtlenecks and it’s important to choose the right length for each look. My most worn style is the Park Slope which hits me right at my hip. It’s great to use when I tuck and also pairs perfectly with jeans or tailored pants for work. When I wear leggings I tend to want more length so I will opt for something longer like the Cobble Hill or Greenpoint.

 

 

Styling Tip 3– Roll down the neck. While I love the cozy tall turtleneck, sometimes it can be bulky, especially when layering with another collar underneath. I typically will roll down the collar in order to make the collar beneath pop more! Sharing examples below!

 

 

Styling Tip 4– Size up if you want to layer! Typically I recommend your typical sizing when purchasing a Dudley, but if you are someone who is constantly adding layers underneath I think it is a great idea to order one size up. This allows for a little extra room when adding additional tops or dresses underneath.
