Start your relaxing getaway with a stay at The Inn by Sea Island, a boutique hotel that offers luxurious comfort just minutes from the beach and village. This peaceful retreat features elegantly appointed rooms, top-notch amenities, and serene surroundings. Whether you’re in town for a weekend escape or an extended vacation, The Inn sets the perfect tone for your coastal stay. We loved the laid back vibe at the Inn and all of the amenities they had to offer like a stunning pool, Top Golf simulator, complimentary bikes, and breakfast every morning.
Begin your morning with a visit to Wake Up Coffee, one of St. Simons Island’s favorite local coffee shops. Offering locally roasted coffee, fresh pastries, smoothies, and hearty breakfast sandwiches, it’s the perfect spot to fuel up before exploring the island. The cozy ambiance and welcoming staff make it a top breakfast choice for locals and visitors.
For a casual, coastal lunch, head to The Porch, a laid-back eatery known for its fresh seafood and Southern comfort food. With outdoor seating and dishes like shrimp po’boys, fried chicken sandwiches, and crisp salads, The Porch provides a relaxed setting to enjoy the island breeze and flavorful cuisine. This was one of those spots where I wanted to order everything on the menu because it all looked so delicious! My mom and I ended up with a few of the classics like their fried shrimp, chicken tenders, and BLT wrap. We also tried a variety of their signature sides- why doesn’t everyone serve brussel sprouts like this! It’s a great spot for families too since there is a lot of outdoor seating and space for kids to play.
For dinner, we loved our experience at 1509 Brunswick, an upscale restaurant offering a menu filled with locally sourced ingredients and expertly prepared dishes. It was a beautiful night and we were so happy to sit outside! From perfectly seared steaks to fresh seafood, every meal is crafted to perfection. The elegant ambiance, combined with exceptional service, makes this the ideal place to enjoy a memorable evening on the island. Be sure to pair your meal with a glass of wine or a craft cocktail for the ultimate dining experience. We had the most incredible cocktails too- so refreshing and perfect for a warm weather meal!
If you’re looking for a spot to unwind after dinner, Dorothy’s Cocktail Bar is the perfect choice. Known for its expertly crafted drinks and relaxed atmosphere, it’s a great place to enjoy a nightcap and soak in the island’s charm. Whether you opt for a classic cocktail or something more unique, Dorothy’s offers a delightful setting to relax and enjoy the evening.
Start your adventure with some fun at Top Golf’s suite at Sea Island. Whether you’re an avid golfer or just looking to hit a few balls for fun, Top Golf provides an interactive experience that’s both enjoyable and relaxing. I have been golfing since high school, but my mom hasn’t had a lot of experience with golf so this was such a fun activity for us. The beautiful surroundings add to the experience, making it the perfect activity to get your trip started!
For a peaceful start to your day, visit Gould’s Inlet to catch a breathtaking sunrise. Truly one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen! The tranquil beauty of the marshes and coastline as the sun rises is a sight you won’t want to miss. It’s a perfect way to center yourself and enjoy a calm moment before diving into the day’s activities.
No trip to St. Simons Island is complete without visiting the iconic St. Simons Lighthouse. Standing tall for over 150 years, the lighthouse offers panoramic views of the island and the Atlantic Ocean. The climb to the top is a bit of a workout, but it’s absolutely worth it for the stunning views. Plus, you’ll learn a bit about the island’s fascinating history along the way.
After your visit to the lighthouse, make your way to St. Simons Pier Village. This lively area is home to a variety of shops, galleries, and restaurants. Stroll through the charming streets, browse the local boutiques, and maybe pick up a souvenir or two. It’s the perfect place to get a feel for the island’s unique culture and vibe. A few of our favorites were SSI Lifestyle, Savannah Bee Company, and Rahab’s Rope!
