DIY Preppy Binder Covers (Back to school series)

The school year is quickly approaching, so in this tutorial I will show you how to make your own Lilly Pulitzer binder Covers. I made my binder covers in a bunch of my favorite Lilly Pulitzer patterns.

Step 1: Google your favorite patterns and find a picture that would work for the background.

Step 2: Copy and paste the pattern into Microsoft word

Step 3: Re-size the image to fit the entire page

Step 4: Insert a custom text box, and type anything you want!

Step 5: (optional) I like to change the color of the text box to match the pattern I chose. Also I play around with different fonts, and effects to make it even cuter!

If your looking to add a little more prep to your binder, I added Vineyard Vines whales to mine! Here’s how!

Step 1: Complete your binder cover using all of the steps above, your cover should look like this.

Step 2: Google Vineyard Vines whale, Vineyard Vines logo, etc. to find your favorite!

Step 3: Copy and paste your favorite into Microsoft word, make sure your text wrapping is “In front of text” so your whale is on top of the Lilly background. If your having trouble getting rid of the white background behind the whale use this image: found here.

Step 4: (optional) I added a border to my text box and tried to match the text box fill close to the Vineyard Vines whale color.

TA DA! Your finished and whale prepped for school 😉

Here’s what my binders look like.

Comment if you would like to see a tutorial for the sides or the whale stickers!
