Today is #blackoutday2020 and I’m sharing some of my favorite black-owned businesses to shop at and a few that I’ve recently discovered! I’ve been seeing a ton of wonderful lists going around on Instagram and other platforms for different cities that include local black-owned businesses and restaurants. If you’re local to Buffalo
here’s a link! I encourage you to find a list for your city and start to support them if you have not already. Other than supporting black-owned businesses locally, there are SO many wonderful online stores you can support! #buyblack
Here are a few of my favorites:
The Tiny Tassel | I’ve worn earrings created by Mimi for years! They are a Charleston-based company and have so many cute accessories, clothes, and more. I’ve been dying to head to Charleston and visit her store!
Lemlem | This brand is a recent find for me and let’s just say I’m obsessed! Not only was it founded by an incredible black woman, Liya Kebede, but it is also made ethically in Africa. I am obsessing over everything on their site for summer and need to make a purchase asap!
Estelle Colored Glass | Who doesn’t love hand-blown rainbow glassware? Everything on this site is beyond beautiful.
Kemi Telford | If you love fun prints and bright colors you
need to check out Kemi Telford. I also love the story behind the brand, you can read more
here!
Mateo NYC | I love adding jewelry to my collection and am always on the hunt for new brands. Mateo NYC has so many stunning accessories that I’m gushing over.
SIKA | This is another brand that is ethically made with all of its fabrics sourced from Ghanaian markets. All of the colors and patterns are breathtaking! I’m also in love with their printed puffer jackets.
Indego Africa | You guys know I’m obsessed with straw bags, and they carry so many beautiful options. They also have pottery and other home decor that is absolutely beautiful.
McBride Sisters | This company was founded by two sisters, Robin and Andréa! They created a wine company wanting to inspire every woman to be “empowered and fearless”. I’m so excited to try their wine!
Greer | Who doesn’t love stocking up on cute stationery and office supplies especially when many of us are working from home. Greer is Chicago based and carries a variety of adorable office accessories. They have great prices as well!
I hope you enjoyed and #buyblack today! Read more about the movement here.
